Do you see India emerging as an important knowledge hub and engineering centre contributing to operations in global markets?

After two decades of an information technology boom, I believe the spotlight is slowly re-focusing on the knowledge industry, an area in which India has come into its own. Our young engineers are already attaining prominence in their core sector, and I believe that our country has the potential to become the engineering hub for the world. Aker Solutions in India is already working on several global projects and we are contributing significantly to the international market.

Are you utilising Indian talent for your other global operations?

We utilise Indian engineers on projects around the world and have been doing so for many years. This is mainly possible thanks to Aker Solutions’ common operating system which enables us to execute projects at split locations. Our Project Execution Model (PEM) provides a streamlined and proven approach which helps our clients reap the benefit of leveraging the large and cost-effective resource pool in India, while nullifying the difficulties that can arise in multi-locational engineering.
